Lagoa is a small portuguese locality with a population of 20,000 that belongs to the district of Faro, in the Portuguese Algarve. It is well known for it's extensive golden sand beaches, and for it's amount of apartments, houses and hotels that provide accomodation for tourists' holidays.
Lagoa is an ideal holiday destination if you are looking for sunshine in the beaches of Praia Grande, Praia do Carvalho or Praia Nova. There are also cultural tours that visit the Iglesia Matriz do Lagoa (church), or the Convent of Nuestra Señora do Carmo.
